Giovanni Jared Adams (born November 23, 1994) is an American dancer and dance instructor, specializing in contemporary dance and ballroom dance. He is best known for his 2015 appearance as a competitor on the ninth season of the television show So You Think you Can Dance, which airs on the Fox Network. As of 2014 he is currently a choreographer for a dance troupe local to his residence of Bluewater, California

Personal Life[]

Adams was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut but moved to Bluewater, California as a child. He began dancing at the age of eight and competed in a number of conventions. At the age of eleven he went blind due to a chemical burn to the eyes after him and a friend were "attempting science". Adams took a year off of dance to recover from the accident before returning to dance "with a vengeance".

It was reported in September 2017 that Adams and girlfriend Piper Penbrooke welcomed a child into their life, Lillian Mae Penbrooke-Adams.

Early Career and Training[]

In 2004, at the age of 10, he won the Junior National Outstanding Dancer Scholarship Award. This led to him being chosen to perform at galas and with dance alliances. In 2010 Adams was awarded with the Teen Outstanidng Dancer of the Year award.

So You Think You Can Dance[]

In 2015, at the age of 21, Adams competed on the ninth season of the show So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD), making it to the final four contestants and coming in second place to overall winner Chehon Wespi-Tschopp. Adams ws praised by the judges as the most technically talented dancer in the competition. 

While on the show, Adams dance to Mia Michaels "Blindfold" routine for which she later on an Emmy for Outstanding Choreography. During the Fall of 2015 he toured the United States with the top 10 dancers from So You Think You Can Dance competition. Adamd has stated that he would love to return to the show.
